Palmer High School junior Jim McCall has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Prep Student-Athlete of the Week.
The Palmer High School football standout is excelling this spring as a part of the Moose track and field squad.
McCall ran and jumped his way to a pair of first-place finishes during The Big C Relays at The Dome in Anchorage. With a mark of 20 feet, 4 inches, McCall won the long jump. The junior also helped the Moose win the 400-meter relay with a time of 45.09 seconds.
Palmer’s time in the 400 relay is the best in the state this season. McCall also hosts the state best — a leap of 20-6 — in he long jump.
