Colony senior Kaitlyn Klapperich has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Student–Athlete of the Week.
Klapperich helped lead the Colony Knights girls basketball team to a 2010-11 Northern Lights Conference title at the NLC tourney at Homer High School last weekend. The senior guard, who was named first-team all-conference following the tourney, scored a team-high 13 points during the Knights win over rival Wasilla in the championship game.
Klapperich also supplied a game-best 18 during a semifinal win over Kodiak, and 11 in a first-round victory over Skyview.
