Palmer senior Kasara Brandenburg has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Student Athlete of the Week.
Brandenburg helped the Palmer Moose girls basketball team win the World Youth Basketball Tournament Holiday Classic in Kona, Hawaii, last week.
The senior forward tallied 14 points and nine rebounds to lead Palmer to a 42-40 win over fellow Alaska program Point Hope in the championship game. Brandenburg was 6 for 8 from the free-throw line. She also scored 17 points during a 71-20 win over Kealakehe, Hawaii, in the tourney.
