Wasilla High School sophomore Morgan Dampier has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Prep Student-Athlete of the Week.
Dampier is off to a fast start this season. Last Tuesday, the sophomore won three events — the 100-, 400- and 800-meter races — during a meet at The Dome in Anchorage.
On Saturday, the Warriors returned to The Dome and Dampier won the 800 at a 14-team meet. Dampier currently boasts the state’s top time in the 800.
