Wasilla Warriors
Payson White, a member of the Wasilla Warriors football team, has been named a Frontiersman Athlete of the Week.
White snagged an interception with less than a minute less in the game to help the Warriors hold on to score a 20-14 win over the Palmer Moose in the annual Potato Bowl. The victory marked Wasilla’s first Potato Bowl win since 2014.
The Frontiersman congratulates White on all of his success.
Sophie Wright
Palmer Moose
Sophie Wright, a member of the Palmer Moose cross-country running team, has been named a Frontiersman Athlete of the Week.
Wright finished first in the varsity girls race of the George Plumley Invitational at Palmer High School. She was the only runner in the field to break the 20-minute mark, finishing with a time of 19:30. She also helped Palmer place second in the girls standings.
