Aila Berrigan, Rosie Whittington-Evans and Katey Houser — members of the Palmer High cross-country skiing team —have been named the Frontiersman Athletes of the Week.
Berrigan, Whittington-Evans and Houser helped the Palmer Moose girls make history at the ASAA/First National Bank Nordic Ski State Championships. Palmer became the first Mat-Su team to place more than one skier in the top 11 in the girls final standings at a state ski meet. Houser was third overall, Berrigan was fifth overall and Whittington-Evans was 11th overall. Houser's finish is also the highest for any Mat-Su skier in the overall state standings.
The Frontiersman congratulates Berrigan, Whittington-Evans and Houser on their success.
