The members of the Wasilla High girls track and field team have, once again, been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman student-athletes of the week.
A week after capturing their second straight Northern Lights Conference title in dominant fashion, the Warriors made history by earning their first girls track title in program history.
Despite only advancing 12 athletes to the state meet, Wasilla managed to cruise past much deeper squads in the team standings. Wasilla collected 30 more points than second-place Dimond, which had won three straight 4A titles.
