The members of the Wasilla High girls track and field team have been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman student-athletes of the week.
The Warriors captured their second straight Northern Lights Conference title at the NLC Championships at Skyview High School in Soldotna last Saturday. Wasilla had double the total points of runner-up Colony and scored first-place finishes in nine different events. Three athletes (Morgan Dampier, Dajanae Harris and Brianne Bohn) won two events each. Wasilla also scored wins in three different relay events. The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman congratulates the Warriors on all of their success.
