Athletes on the fast track at relays

PALMER — The host proved to boast the fastest sprint relay team during the Palmer Relays Saturday afternoon.

Palmer’s team of Chris Forkner, David Clement, John Scoresby and Jim McCall powered the Moose to a first-place finish in the 400-meter relay.

Rival Colony finished first in the boys’ 800-meter relay.

Wasilla senior John Knowles was among the top individual winners from the Valley. Knowles swept the throwing events for the Warriors.

McCall (boys’ long jump), Palmer’s Erin LaMere (girls’ shot put) and Colony’s Laura Maresh (girls’ long jump) also won events.
