Avalanche suffer another NAHL Showcase loss

Alex Young and Alex Rasmussen each scored for the Alaska Avalanche, but the team was unable to overcome a 53-14 deficit, falling to Springfield 6-2 Saturday in Blaine, Minn.

Young’s power play goal in the second period off a Jeremiah Dargis assist cut the Springfield lead to 2-1, but the Blues scored four of the next five goals to pull away.

Alaska goalie Nathan Corey made 47 saves in the loss, the final game of the NAHL Showcase event.
