PALMER — In a furious battle for home ice, the Alaska Avalanche sent pucks blazing Friday night.

The Avs set a franchise scoring record with an 11-1 win over the Fresno Monsters at the MTA Palmer Ice Arena. Eliot Grauer notched the hat trick, and Matt Friese and Ross Pavek scored two goals each to help Alaska keep pace with Wenatchee in the right for second place and home ice advantage during the first round of the North American Hockey Leauge playoffs. Both teams head into Saturday action with 63 points in the NAHL West standings.

Alaska hosts Fresno Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the MTA Palmer Ice Arena, the Avs final regular season home game of the year. The top two teams in the West own home ice advantage in the first round. Fairbanks has already locked up the division title and will host the No. 4 team from the division.
