WASILLA — The Alaska Avalanche erased a 3-1 deficit for the second straight night to claim a 6-4 win over Kenai River and a series sweep of the Brown Bears at the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla.
Alaska scored four unanswered goals in the win and improved to 6-2-0 overall. With 12 points, the Avs stand three points ahead of second place Kenai.
Robb Haider posted a pair of goals to lead the Alaska scoring. The former two-time Alaska prep player of the year scored the go-ahead goal with 6:56 left in the third and iced the game with an empty-netter in the final minute of play.
Anchorage natives Tyler Currier, Logan Rounds and Ryan Kowal also recorded goals. Logan Maly rounded out the scoring for Alaska.
Austin MacGinnis recorded 30 saves in the win.
The Avs are now off for two weeks. Alaska is back in action Oct. 31 against the Brown Bears in Soldotna.
