PALMER — Three different players posted their first goal of the year and goalie Nick Kulmanovsky earned his second shutout of the season as the Alaska Avalanche scored a 3-0 win over the Fresno Monsters at the MTA Events Center in Palmer.

Cody Bisbing, Ryan Dau and Codey Hansen all scored to help Alaska improve to 4-4-1 overall and win its 2011-12 home opener.

The series continues Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
