Avs split with Blizzard

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. — Zach Smith, Blake Huppert and Jed McGlasson helped fuel Alaska a four-goal third period during Alaska’s 4-2 victory over the Alexandria Blizzard in Alexandria, Minn., on Saturday.

The Smith-Huppert-McGlasson line accounted for three of their team’s four third-period goals during the come-from-behind win. Each member of the line contributed a goal and assist to help the Avs take two wins during the three-game set in Alexandria.

The Blizzard skated into the third period with a 1-0 lead, but Smith tied the score with a goal 76 seconds into the final period. Huppert scored midway through the frame to give Alaska the 2-1 lead, and McGlasson iced the game with a late empty-netter.
