WASILLA — Five different players scored as Colony grabbed a 5-2 nonconference win over the Houston Hawks at the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena on Saturday.
Trevor Naylor, Kevin Hartley, Anthony Kolendo, Jonathon Boyer and Lincoln Mattson each found the back of the net to help Colony improve to 2-1 this season.
“We tried to wear them down and get after them,” Colony head coach Jamie Smith said.
Jake Wells scored both Houston goals.
Colony skated to a 3-0 first-period lead in the win. Wells scored both of his goals in the third period for the Hawks.
Senior Forrest Savel made 24 saves to help Colony win. Houston freshman goalie Aaron Allred stopped 32 Knights shots.
West Valley 5, Houston 0
WASILLA — Eric Weber notched a hat trick to lead West Valley to a 5-0 win over the Houston Hawks at the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena on Thursday.
Weber scored in each period to help West Valley earn the Mid-Alaska Conference win over the Hawks.
Todd Hallsten and Kevin Kassel also scored for WVHS.
West Valley 4, Colony 1
WASILLA — West Valley scored a 4-1 nonconference win over Colony Friday at the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla.
West Valley led just 1-0 after the first period, but scored twice more in the second.
Eric Weber, Seth Flory, Mason Graves and Mike Olson scored for West Valley. Morgan McJimsey recorded Colony’s lone goal.
Colony goalie Forrest Savel recorded 32 saves in the loss.
Dimond 13, Wasilla 0
ANCHORAGE — The Dimond Lynx scored a 13-0 win over Wasilla in Anchorage on Thursday.
South-Bartlett 4; Mat-Su 0
EAGLE RIVER — South-Bartlett scored a 4-0 win over the Mat-Su Ravens at the MacDonald Center in Eagle River on Friday. Alahna Stivers-Myers, Aimee Rupp, Georgianna Hoss and Jamie Rall all scored for the Anchorage team. Lydia Phillips finshed with 19 saves in the Ravens net.
