Barbara J. Hart, 52, was found dead at her home in Palmer on Jan. 23, 2002.

A memorial Mass will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1201 Bogard Road in Wasilla. A reception will follow the Mass. A second memorial Mass will be on Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at the Holy Family Perish in Belle Prairie, Minn.

Ms. Hart was born April 19, 1949, in Little Falls, Minn. She graduated from Little Falls High School, then attended Beauty College in St. Cloud, Minn. She came to Alaska in 1972, residing first in Eagle River, and then moving to Palmer where she resided until the time of her death.

She worked at the Eagle River Public Library for seven years, was a schoolteacher at Wasilla High School for four years, at Big Lake Elementary School for five years and was currently a teacher at Iditarod Elementary School.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla.

Family members said, "She touched the hearts of many, and she will be greatly missed."

Ms. Hart is survived by her daughters, Tina Mobley of Palmer and Susan Hart of Wasilla; grandchildren, Carlin Mobley, Haven Mobley and Ridge Mobley, all of Palmer; her former husband, Duane Hart of Wasilla; and numerous family and friends in Minnesota.

Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory.
