BARBARA L. BOWMAN

Barbara Lynn Bowman, 56, died of emphysema June 21, 2005, at her home in Wasilla. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. today, at Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla, with the Rev. Duane Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Floral arrangements are welcome.

Ms. Bowman was born March 3, 1949, in Teaneck, N.J. She graduated from high school and attended cosmetology school in Levittown, N.Y. She moved to Wasilla in 1982.

She was employed as a waitress with the Colony Kitchen Noisy Goose Café in Palmer. She enjoyed flower gardening and cooking.

Her family wrote, "Barbara was a loving wife and mother and a doting grandmother. She could whip up a gourmet feast with seemingly little effort. She was a well-known and popular waitress at the Noisy Goose Café. She had a heart of gold and will be terribly missed. Her generosity of spirit will never be forgotten."

Her father and mother, Charles F. and Martha Graham Worrell, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Denver Bowman; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Stephanie Bowman; grandchildren, Zoey, Dusty and Michael; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Patti Worrell, and nephews, Craig and Kevin Worrell, all of Wasilla.

Donations may be made to the Barb Bowman Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 877276, Wasilla, AK 99687. Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
