Eagle River resident Barbara Mae Pajak, 83, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, of natural causes, at Alaska Regional Medical Center.
A visitation took place Wednesday, April 20, followed by a funeral service at Witzleben Family Funeral Home on Bragaw in Anchorage. Pastor Steve Lambert of United Methodist Church of Chugiak will preside.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to United Methodist Church of Chugiak, Attention: Building Fund, 16430 Old Glenn Hwy, Chugiak, AK 99567.
Mrs. Pajak was born Sept. 8, 1921 in Westfield, Mass. She moved to Eagle River in 1963, where she spent her time as a homemaker. Mrs. Pajak was a member of United Methodist Church of Chugiak. She loved to pick wild berries, cook, bake and decorate cakes.
Her family said, "Mom's family and friends were very important to her. She was very supportive, often talking to family members about their endeavors. She always had a kind word to say, and always had a plate of cookies or cream puffs on the table for guests, but we usually got there first.
Mrs. Pajak is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael Iverson of Camarillo, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Shauna Pajak of Eagle River; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph J. Pajak; son, Joseph W. Pajak; sister, Helen Riley, and brother, Wallace Phillips.
