On March 4 during the Iditarod Restart, Houston High School Hockey tried a new fundraiser by opening our concession stand and bathrooms to make them available for people riding the shuttle buses to the restart. The basketball team boosters have an espresso machine, and because none of the people who know how to run it were available to help out, Pandemonium Café and Booksellers sent baristas to make the coffee for us that day. Pandemonium provided the baristas at their cost, and it was such a great relief for us to have nice, knowledgeable people there. Thank you, Pandemonium, Brian, Trevor, and Blake. Thank you to the basketball team for sharing with us, and thank you, to the Iditarod Race folks who allowed us to share the event. Thank you Norm Bouchard for hanging in there with us and helping out in a big way all day. Although we didn’t have a great day as far as income, we are confident that in the years to come it will only get better. We would not have had the confidence to plan the project for next year, had we not had the awesome community support from Pandemonium, from the Iditarod race people, and also from the shuttle bus riders who were so appreciative of us having the heated bathrooms available. We will be back next year and stay all day. Thank you all.
