Basketball round-up, Warriors thump Kodiak

The Wasilla girls stomped the Kodiak Bears in a pair of games in Kodiak last weekend.

On Friday, Wasilla thumped Kodiak 52-20, allowing only eight Bear baskets in the contest. Chandice Cronk hit three three-pointers and scored a game-high 18 points. Forwards Marsha Schirack and Melissa Mayse each added nine points.

The following night the Warriors defeated Kodiak 74-40. Kelly Tompkins hit five three-pointers. Tompkins scored 17 points, while Cronk chipped in 14. Wasilla hit 10 treys in the game.

Wasilla improved to 10-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play with the wins.

Wasilla boys sweep Kodiak

The Wasilla boys notched a pair of conference wins in Kodiak over the weekend.

Wasilla defeated Kodiak 58-45 on Friday. Senior center Ray Schafer scored a game-high 24 points in the contest. Aaron Roth added 18.

The following night, Wasilla hit 10 three-pointers en route to a 73-43 win. Buddy Bailey hit five treys and scored a game high 24 points on the night. Roth added 12 points.

Wasilla improved to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play with the wins.

Knight girls beat Skyview

Kristina Klapperich put in a game-high 33 points to lead Colony past the Skyview Panthers 59-33.

Klapperich hit 13 shots from the floor, including three from beyond the arc. Sienna Locke added nine points.

Colony improved to 6-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

The Palmer girls slid past the Skyview Panthers 40-35 at Skyview High School Saturday.

Emily Bolling chipped in a team-high 10 points for Palmer.
