The Redington girls grabbed a pair of wins at Kodiak over the weekend.
The Huskies notched the sweep with a 34-25 win. Lexi Seymore scored 22 points. Abbie Fullier added nine. Redington beat the Bears 47-32 the night before. Seymore scored 16. Marian Aparezuk added 12.
Redington improved to 11-4 with the wins.
Knights win during first day of Dimond tourneyThe Colony Knights stormed to a 69-14 win over Point Hope during the first day of the Lady Lynx Shootout Wednesday at Dimond High in Anchorage.
Colony moves into the event’s gold bracket with the win, and will play Chugiak Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Colony is one of three Valley teams in the shootout field. Wasilla and Palmer suffered losses during the first day. Juneau-Douglas used a big third quarter to beat Wasilla 57-52. The Crimson Bears outscored the Warriors 19-7 in the third. Bella Hays led Wasilla with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Sierra Baird and Sheridan Green added eight each.
Wasilla will play host Dimond Thursday at 6:15 p.m. in the maroon bracket.
Bartlett beat Palmer 54-43 on the first day of the tourney. Dazhane Maclean led Palmer with a dozen. Catherine Uschmann added nine. Palmer will play Kodiak Thursday at 2:15 p.m.
Hawks sweep Sand PointThe Houston Hawks scored a pair of wins over Sand Point Feb. 1 in Seward.
Kyle McLaughlin notched a double-double and led Houston to a 73-26 boys win. McLaughlin finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Cody Wyrick added 14 and Landon Taylor chipped in 10.
The Houston girls beat Sand Point 54-16. Katie Richey scored a game-high 21 for the Hawks. Emily Bitler finished with a double-double, 12 points and 12 boards.
Wasilla girls beat WestThe Wasilla girls beat West Anchorage 57-48 Feb. 1 at Wasilla High. Jazylnn Novelli led Wasilla with 14 points. Jordyn Cox scored 10. Bella Hays led the Warriors with 13 rebounds.
