Benjamin Wayne Bellamy, 58, a resident of Chickaloon, died near his place of employment in Palmer on June 6, 2005.
A memorial service was held Thursday, June 9, at the United Protestant Presbyterian Church in Palmer. Additional services will be held in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Mr. Bellamy was born Aug. 30, 1946, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, where he was raised and graduated from high school in 1964. He joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and was stationed at the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.
Upon discharge from the Army, he was employed with Westinghouse-Sunstrand as a security guard in Lima, Ohio, for 22 years.
He moved to Chickaloon in May 1993 and became employed with the Alaska Job Corps in Palmer. In 1994, he moved to Wasilla, where he lived until returning in 1999 to make Chickaloon his home. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
His family wrote, "Ben loved his family. He remained close to his brother in Ohio despite the distance. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He loved his sons most of all. His life revolved around Benjamin Jr. He will be dearly missed by family, friends and co-workers.
His mother, Lucille Agnes Rosengarten, and father, James Albert Bellamy, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Benjamin Bellamy of Wasilla; stepson, Isaac Wiggins of Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, James and Sherie Bellamy of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and nephew and niece-in-law, Craig and Cheryl Bellamy of Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Ohio also survive him. Arrangements were with Valley Funeral
