Wasilla resident Betty Betts, 82, died April 4, 2002 in Anchorage at Providence Extended Care, of natural causes.
A service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
Ms. Betts was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Missouri.
She graduated from high school and moved to Alaska in 1946. She was self-employed and loved fishing, gardening and her grand-
children.
Her family said, "She always thought of the other person first."
Ms. Betts is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Marilyn Roth; grandson, Joel, and wife, Holly, of Anchorage; son, Tom Roth, partner Michelle Perdew and daughter, Kim; grandchildren, Justin, Travis and wife, Sara; great-grandchildren, Tommy and Shyanne, all of Anchorage; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Pamela Farrell; grandchildren, Tony, Adam and Jessica of Wasilla; and sister, Grace Lee of Melbourne, Ark.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mat-Su Unit, P.O. Box 431, Palmer, AK 99645.
Ms. Betts' ashes will be scattered in Wasilla.
