Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Betty Sue Morgan, 71, of Wasilla passed away at an Anchorage hospital on Nov. 25, 2017. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday Dec. 2, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 1221 Church Road. Rev. Eugene Larmi will officiate.
Betty was born on Sept. 17, 1946 in Lilburn, Missouri, to James Gilbert Hall and Myrtle L. Hanna. She became an Alaska resident in 2003. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Betty was preceded in death by her Parents and 7 siblings; James Hall, J.W. Hall, Lois Morris, Olon Hall, Glenn Hall, Virginia Denbo, and Selma Land.
Survivors include: Her husband Ron Morgan, Wasilla; 2 daughters, Melanie Thompson, Wasilla and Karen Hurtbise, Eldon, MO; 2 brothers; Willis Hall, New Braunfels, TX; Roger Hall, Dupo, IL; 2 sisters; Veda Amsden, Dupo, IL; Elise Brannam, Burleson, TX; 5 grandchildren; Tabatha and Christina Hurtbise, Eldon, MO; Krina and Gwen Thompson, Wasilla; James Hurtbise Jr., Eldon, MO; a step-son, Michael Morgan, Wasilla and 1 great grandchild, Kendra Atwell, Eldon, MO.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org) or the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League in either Wasilla, Alaska, or Eldon, Missouri.
Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla cared for arrangements.
