Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Former Wasilla resident Beverly Ann Wethington, 67, died Aug. 12, 2004, in her home, of heart failure.
A gathering of friends and family will be Saturday, from 1-3 p.m. at the Wonderland Park in Wasilla.
Mrs. Wethington was born July 23, 1937, in San Joaquin, Calif. Mrs. Wethington began her residency in Anchorage as a child, graduated from high school there and later moved to the Valley, where she lived for the last 30 years.
She was a civil service employee, and volunteered for Hospice and Red Cross.
Her family said, "Mother was a selfless volunteer to the community for many years in the Valley. She was also Internationally known for her paper-doll and doll collections."
She is survived by her daughter, DeAnn Edgmon; sons, Danny Fowler and Tim Rippy; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with a large extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Hospice Of Mat-Su, 950 E. Bogard Road, Suite 111, Wasilla, AK 99654 or to American Red Cross Southcentral Alaska Chapter, 235 E. 8th, Anchorage, AK 99501.
