Big Lake Baptist Church ready for 'new beginning'

As Jerry and Connie Pinkerton prepare to retire to North Carolina, Big Lake Baptist Church is preparing to head in a new direction.

Dawson Lindblom is taking over as pastor of the church on an interim basis, and will be assisting the church during the transition process

Lindblom has plenty of experience, pastoring previously in Willow, as well as in Anchorage. He has served as a sort of "pastor to the pastors," previously.

"We are already in the process of trying to find a full-time pastor," said Elsie O'Bryan. "It's a new beginning for the church."

O'Bryan said that since Lindblom is very familiar with the area and with Big Lake Baptist Church, "the transition should be a lot easier."
