Big news for Bears fans!

For the first time in my lifetime the Chicago Bears have FINALLY landed a franchise quarterback. For those of you who are not glued to ESPN like I am, the Bears have acquired Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos.

As a lifelong Chicago fan, I don’t think I have been this excited about the Bears since Devin Hester ran back the opening kickoff for a touchdown during Super Bowl XLI. (I still say the game should have ended at that point.)

But now Bears fans once again have a reason to celebrate.

Not only did Cutler boldly lead the Palmer Long Snappers to the Wasilla Area Fantasy Football League of Excellence (thank you Cutler for helping me win my fantasy football league, by the way), he’s also one of the league’s top signal callers at just 25 years old.

I’d hate to look too far ahead, but I’ve already marked Feb. 7, 2010 on my calendar — the date of Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, Fla.

Now I just have to convince the wife we need to take a trip to Miami in January. I’m sure Cutler will make sure the Bears get there too.
