BILLY MAC DAVIS

Willow resident Billy Mac Davis died suddenly June 28, 2005, at Valley Hospital in Palmer.

A visitation and funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m., at Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla. A graveside service will follow at the veterans' section of the Wasilla Aurora Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born in Ada, Okla., on Sept. 10, 1943. He was the seventh son of seven brothers and one of nine children.

He proudly served his country as a merchant marine before moving to Alaska in 1971.

Mr. Davis was a well-known accountant in Anchorage for more than 20 years before his semi-retirement to Willow in 1994.

His loved ones wrote, "Mr. Davis' friends and family will remember him best as the man who literally gave the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He will truly be missed."

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Vera Rowe Davis; brothers, Joe, Harry, Jim, and Wilson; and sisters, Ellen and Dolly.

He is survived by his brothers, Al Davis of Washington and Russell Davis of Oklahoma; son, John, and his wife, Laurie, of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; son, Wilson, of Anchorage; three grandchildren, Rhiannon, Van Truman, and Maximus; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his partner of many years, Shirley Heatwole of Willow.
