Bless you, Bess

I have read and appreciated Mr. Bess’s faith columns about our state’s prison system. I have also read the Alaska Christian Conference’s report on the prison system. I wish that report could be reprinted now and that all of those involved with the management of Alaska’s prisons would read it.

Those who call themselves Christians, those who believe in human rights, everyone who has ever been a victim of crime and everyone who knows or is related to someone who has spent any time in jail should also read it and understand what our system of punishment is doing to our society.
