Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Houston resident Bobby Richard Kale Jr., 47, died Oct. 11, 2001 at his cabin. There will be no services.
He was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Vallejo, Calif. He went to grade school in Carmichael, Calif. Then his parents moved to Paradise, Calif., where he went to junior high and high school. He graduated from Paradise High School. In 1985 he moved to Alaska and worked various construction jobs as a laborer. He also worked for his brother's family business for several years. His latest job was with a subcontractor on the North Slope.
Mr. Kale enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmachining and taxidermy. He loved the outdoors. His family said: "Our son, brother and friend was loved and will be greatly missed. He always had a smile to give, and a helping hand when one was needed.
"Bobby had a special place in his heart for his nephews and niece. All the people who ever knew Bob, loved him dearly, and he will be forever missed."
Mr. Kale is survived by his parents, Bob and Pauline Kale of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Bryce Kale of Valdez; nephew, Ryan Kale of Bend, Ore.; brother, Steve Kale of Anchorage; nephew, Jason Kale of Yuba City, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and John Peters of Houston; niece, Mellissa Chertkow and her daughter, Katrina, of Anchorage; nephew, Juston Peters of Wasilla; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
