PALMER — Officials planned a pre-construction meeting for the Bogard Road Extension Corridor Tuesday.
The meeting was slated for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Palmer Community Center.
The $22-million road project is the largest ever undertaken by the Mat-Su Borough, and includes a pedestrian underpass large enough to accommodate a mounted person as well as the first borough-owned-and-operated traffic light.
Officials have said contractor Scarsella Brothers Inc. will likely complete the embankment for the extension this summer, allow it to settle and then pave the area next year. The extension is two lanes but could potentially be expanded into four to meet demand for more capacity.
The Palmer Community Center is located at 610 S. Valley Way.
