Bonnie Ellen McNab-Davis, 54, died Nov. 6, 2004, at the Life Care Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Her ashes will be spread over Sleeping Lady as she requested.
Her memorial service will be Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. at Peters Creek Christian Center, 20640 Chapel Drive, in Chugiak.
She was born May 13, 1950, in Anchorage, to James and Margaret McNab.
She was a lifelong resident, graduating from East High School in 1968. She married Thomas Davis on Nov. 22, 1984, in Ketchikan.
Mrs. McNab-Davis worked for the Alaska Department of Labor in Ketchikan, Wasilla and Anchorage from 1984 until her retirement in 2000. Her efforts were instrumental in developing the state's "VICTOR" system for electronic registration for unemployment benefits.
In retirement, she enjoyed spending many joyful hours with her husband, traveling around the United States in their RV.
According to her family and friends, "Bonnie was a generous and compassionate person who never met a stranger. She opened her heart and home to anyone in need and filled the hearts of those around her with joy and love. Bonnie's love for Alaska ran deep.
"She loved gardening, and enjoyed many wonderful outings with her husband and friends snowmachining throughout Alaska, especially in the Eureka area. She spent many hours fishing in Ketchikan, Homer and Whittier and most enjoyed the companionship this afforded with her friends and family.
"Bonnie never missed an opportunity to celebrate special events and accomplishments of her family and those around her. Her legacy will live on in those who loved her as we appreciate the beauty of each new day in her beautiful Alaska."
Mrs. McNab-Davis is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Davis; parents, James and Joan McNab of Oceanside, Calif.; sister, Debbie McNab; children, Donald Davis and Christina Davis; very special nieces, Tara and Heather Cox, all of Anchorage, and stepsisters, Christa and Becky McNab.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret McNab; and brother, James "Bo" McNab.
Flowers sent to Mrs. McNab-Davis' service will be donated to the Chugiak Senior Center following the service.
