Borough to form towers board

PALMER — The Mat-Su Borough Assembly voted Tuesday to approve mayor Larry DeVilbiss’ proposal to create a board to review tall tower rules.

“This is a streamlined, five-member board that will be three residents and two industry people that are not going to spend the amount time that has been in the past on forwarding to us legislation that will get us the recommended skeleton of a tower ordinance,” DeVilbiss said in his regular podcast on the borough’s website.

He said the skeleton ordinance will make sure that members of the public are informed before towers are built and are included in the process.
