KNIK — A 15-year-old boy was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center after he failed to yield to oncoming traffic while crossing Knik-Goose Bay Road on an all-terrain vehicle.
Alaska State Troopers say they responded to Mile 8, Knik-Goose Bay Road shortly before 2 p.m., Sunday for a report a motor vehicle collision involving injuries.
Troopers say a 21-year-old Wasilla woman was driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Sedan northbound on Knik-Goose Bay Road when the ATV crossed in front of her and she could not avoid striking the ATV.
The boy was transported to the Palmer hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and cited for failing to yield to the vehicle on the roadway.
He was wearing a helmet and she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers say.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected in the accident, according to troopers.
