I support Adam Boyd for Mat-Su Borough School District Board of Education Seat A.
Adam is a lifelong Alaskan who is a product of our Mat-Su school system. Adam is a local farmer who not only works his family farm (third generation), but also works with inmates managing the Point MacKenzie farm. On his family farm, along with the full-time employees, he hires students on the condition they are current on their school work and passing their classes.
Adam Boyd has three children attending Mat-Su schools. He understands that students need diverse educational experiences and opportunities to be successful not only in school, but in life.
Adam is adamantly opposed to outsourcing Mat-Su school employees. Neither of his opponents will commit to this. Having an outside entity managing people who work in the schools is scary, as the district has no records of these people’s backgrounds.
School boards were created so people from the community would have a say in their children’s education. Adam is honest, open and a consensus builder. We have plenty of administrators running our schools. We need the voice of the community, not another administrator, on our school board. Adam Boyd has my vote.
