Knights to overtime win
PALMER — Junior guard John Palmer scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Colony Knights to a 66-63 overtime win over the East Anchorage Thunderbirds Friday at Colony High School.
Palmer, a 2008 All-Northern Lights Conference selection, scored seven of Colony’s 12 points in the extra period to help the Knights earn the win.
Senior Chris Scott scored five of his 11 points in overtime.
The Knights used a 15-6 third quarter run to grab a 14-point lead heading into the fourth. But in the fourth, East scored 26 points to force overtime.
Juwan Harris scored 20 points to lead the T-Birds.

ANCHORAGE — East edged Wasilla 78-74 in nonconference action at East Anchorage High School on Thursday.
Wasilla senior Tillerman Kroon led the Warriors with 16 points. Senior Adrese LaVern added 15 in the loss and junior Cody Pfeifer chipped in 11.
Tevin Timberlake led East with a game-high 25 points.

NIKISKI — Houston senior Bryan Mason scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Houston Hawks to a 66-47 nonconference win over the Nikiski Bulldogs at Nikiski High School on Friday.
Logan Moore added 13 points in the win and Zack Qual chipped in nine.
Houston opened the game on a 19-9 run and took a 37-22 into halftime.

ANCHORAGE — The Colony Knights used a 26-point third quarter to score a 79-46 win over the East Anchorage Thunderbirds in Anchorage on Friday.
Colony scored 44 of its 79 points in the second half.
All-state forward Alex Coon led the Knights with 25 points and Maria Bowker added 16 for the defending 4A state champions.

Bulldogs storm past Houston girls
NIKISKI — The Nikiski Bulldogs held Houston to single digits in scoring in all four quarter, and stormed to a 49-16 win over the Hawks at Nikiski High School on Friday.
Senior captain Ariel Katzenberger scored six for the Hawks in the loss.
