Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Former Valley resident Bradley A. Anderson, 50, died Sept. 2, 2002, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident while on duty as a St. Louis County Sheriff's deputy. He was living with his family in Aurora, Minn.
Mr. Anderson was born Dec. 17, 1951, in Duluth, Minn., to Howard and Dawn (Black) Anderson. He graduated from Ely High School and earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Later, he earned a degree in criminology at the University of Alaska.
He married Gale Anderson in September 1973 in Moorhead, Minn. He was a pilot for the Alaska National Guard and was in the reserves at Camp Ripley. He and his family lived in the Mat-Su Valley for many years. He worked as an Alaska State Trooper for more than 10 years and was a St. Louis county sheriff's deputy for more than 11 years.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and the National Rifle Association. He was also an educator for the Minnesota firearms training program and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Gale; sons Conrad of California and Kyle of Aurora; parents Howard and Dawn Anderson of Duluth; brother Monte Anderson of Fort Worth, Texas; sister Wendy Robbins of Coralville, Iowa; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Donna Anderson of Moorhead.
