Once again, our local performing arts community is a bright star in the dark of winter. The current “Babes in Toyland” is a joyous and funny sampling of our Valley’s finest. Precious kids sing strongly and act with aplomb. We have Broadway quality voice from Carli Jones, fetching ballet from several teenagers, and a wealth of fabulous costumes. It’s even ribald! Yes, ribald — thanks to the engaging acting of Dave Nufer, Jack Foster and Garry Forrester, who’s our new executive director as well. Go if you can, with kids and grandkids if you have them. I came home a wooden horse!
