Wasilla resident Brenda G. Buenafé, 46, died Jan. 29, 2006, at her home. Services were held Saturday at Best Western Lake Lucille Inn's Iditarod room.
Mrs. Buenafé was born Oct. 29, 1959, in Alabama. She attended all years of high school and two years of community college.
She was employed by GMAC Mortgage as a loan officer. Her family wrote, “She was a truly special and unique woman who lived life her own way, no matter what anyone else thought or said about it. She had a very generous spirit and her light touched many lives. She will be deeply missed.”
Mrs. Buenafé moved to Alaska when she was 5 and has lived here ever since. She loved the rodeos, riding horses, skiing, fishing and playing all sports. She was a very active lady.
Mrs. Buenafé is survived by her husband, David Buenafé of Wasilla; son, Kawika Buenafé of Wasilla and the rest of the Buenafé sisters. Memorial donations may be made to GMAC Mortgage, 500 N. Main St., Suite E, Wasilla.
Her ashes will be scattered on a ski slope where the Buenafés had their first date, on a river, and with her mother and father.
