Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Brianna Nicole Gregory, 12, died of complications from Cystic Fibrosis June 11, 2003, at Providence Children's Hospital in Anchorage.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church in Wasilla. Rev. Henry Woodall officiated.
Brianna was born June 12, 1990, in La Mesa, Calif.
She was in seventh grade at Colony Middle School.
She became a resident of Alaska on July 4, 1999.
Brianna's interests included horses, writing, painting, shopping, shooting and hunting.
Her family wrote, "Brianna was outgoing, easy to talk to, never afraid to speak her mind, enthusiastic and brave! In spite of all that she had to endure during a lifetime of illness, she was compassionate, she loved babies and loved her family. She touched hundreds of people's hearts and died peacefully surrounded by dozens of family and friends."
Brianna is survived by her parents Lorinda Gregory and Neil Moss; sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Troy Horsley; brothers James Taylor and Daniel Gregory; step-brothers Eric and Michael Moss; grandfathers Terry McCluskey and Alec Moss; aunt and uncle, Charli and Denis Tupper; uncle Bryan Cassels; niece and nephew Caitlyn and Alec; numerous cousins including Julie, Danny, Jamie and Amy; and her two best friends, Stephanie and River.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Dorothy McCluskey and Rose Moss.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Alaska.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory.
