To the editor,
How refreshing to read the Sunday, May 15 article “Bridging The Years”! As an avid reader of The Frontiersman who follows upbeat happenings of the Valley, I often have thought that the good, uplifting stories seem to be fewer and farther between. Newspaper customers and readers, whether longtime residents or new to the community, look for something positive in the current issue other than fundraising events, support of non-profits and annual events, and school sports teams' activities (of which we are fond of, I will admit). However, these articles often takes up most of the news edition, and very often I comment that more articles need to be written about groups and local residents’ activities and groups, old and new.
As someone who has subbed for this particular bridge group in the past, I cannot express how wonderful to read that this bridge club — a group of genuine, fun-loving ladies and friends — is still going strong! Behind the lives and professions of these successful women, who for many years have contributed to our community and helping to make it what it is today, it is enlightening to know they still like to have fun together as they play their cards and reminisce and remind one another of the good times of the past!
Thank you for featuring such a wonderful article in our local newspaper. It touched many readers
