Hospital updates on initiatives to improve care
Mat-Su Regional Medical Center’s Director of Urgent Care, Linda Olson, RN, will present a free update on local initiatives to improve patient care at the Wasilla Senior Center, 1301 Century Circle, Meeting Room 1, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, called “Making a Difference with Every Patient, Every Time.” She will discuss the different that are being brought to the hospital and urgent care to improve patient care. The annual MTA Race for Technology is June 25 in downtown Palmer, starting at the Palmer Public Library. Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to run, walk or stroll the 5K race route.

Second annual Palmer Chamber Golf Tournament begins with a shotgun start at 2 p.m., July 15 at the Palmer Golf Course.
A few months from now, customers who regularly visit First National Bank Alaska’s Palmer Branch will do so in remodeled style after an ongoing renovation project is complete.
The renovation of the branch, located at 303 W. Evergreen Ave., includes a new teller line, new counters, carpet and paint. The project will also add 500 square feet to the loan department, three additional offices and a conference room.
Keeping in its tradition of turning to local expertise, the bank hired Palmer’s Wolf Architecture and F-E Contracting Inc. to handle the renovations.
The branch lobby will be closed July 9 and Aug. 6 to allow for the renovations to be finished. The drive-up windows will remain open those days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Alaska Restaurant and Retail Association announces Wasilla Chapter
