Access Alaska names regional director
Kerry L. Turnbow has joined Access Alaska Inc. as its Interior regional director. Most recently, he was the clinical director at the Boys and Girls Home of Alaska, Fairbanks. Turnbow will manage the Fairbanks field office and oversee implementation of the organization’s strategic direction and lead his team in carrying out Access Alaska’s mission.
Turnbow’s 25 years of experience include strategic planning, public relations and grant writing. He is an educator who teaches psychology at UAF and holds a doctorate in ministry, a master’s in divinity and a master’s in counseling.
Access Alaska Inc. is a private, non-profit consumer-controlled organization that provides independent living services to aging Alaskans and those who experience a disability with offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Kenai and Wasilla.

44th annual gun show
Palmer Lions Club 44th annual gun show is March 12-13 at Raven Hall on the Alaska State Fairgrounds. The annual event includes more than 300 tables of guns, knives and outdoor gear, as well as a free chance to win a fishing charter, hourly door prizes and a rifle raffle. The event is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., March 12 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 13. Park at the state fairgrounds purple gate and a free shuttle will deliver people to Raven Hall.

Christian Science Reading Room new location
The First Church of Christ Scientist would like to invite the community to visit the new Christian Science Reading Room, formerly located at the Creekside Plaza, now located to the corner of Lamont and Wesseling Circle in Wasilla. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday Noon to 3 p.m.
Wasilla museum closed until February
The Dorothy G. Page Museum, 323 North Main St., is closed and will re-open Feb. 9. While the museum is closed, staff will conduct an inventory of collections, clean various objects and begin work on updating many of the permanent exhibits. The museum will open at 9 a.m., Feb. 9 and will feature its annual Iditarod Art Exhibit. Free Friday admission for Mat-Su Borough residents resumes in February, too.
