WASILLA — It was a memorable night for Will McDonald Saturday.
McDonald captured the first win of his career in the bandelero class during racing action at North Star Speedway in Wasilla.
To grab the win, McDonald had to beat his sister, Demi McDonald, the season points leader in the class.
Dana Pruhs won the feature race in the late model class, but John Simmelink’s second-place finish pushed him into the lead in the season points standings. Simmelink is now ahead of Allen Ullman, who finished third on Saturday, by one point.
Mike Thomas (legends), Keith Jones (thunderstocks) and Larry Theobald (baby grands) won feature races and padded their leads in the season points standings.
