A memorial service for Palmer resident Budd H. Michael Jr., 45, was held Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at 1 p.m., at Kehl's Forest Lawn Chapel, 11621 Old Seward Hwy., with Pastor Jonathan Rockey of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. His ashes will be scattered at Turnagain Pass.
Mr. Michael died March 17, 2002, at Providence Alaska Medical Center from heart failure. He was born Sept. 28, 1956, in Chicago. He moved to Juneau in 1989, to Anchorage in 1991 and to Palmer in 2001. Mr. Michael worked for Grinnell Fire Protection and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Palmer.
His family said: "He was a loving and doting dad, his children were special to him and he was active in their sports activities. He will be missed by all."
He is survived by his wife, Tammi Berti-Michael; sons, Kyle Berti-Michael, 14, Logan Berti-Michael, 5, Conner Berti-Michael, 3, and future son, McKenna Berti-Michael; mother-in-law, Mary Berti; father-in-law, John Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
The family has requested memorial contributions be directed to the Budd Michael Memorial Fund, c/o Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.
