To the editor:
Unlimited outside money should not be coming to Alaska. All government agencies have gift limits. Political donation money to include outside campaign money should have a limit or not be allowed at all. Lying about campaign opponents has become commonplace on TV and radio in the past, now the Internet is hot with lies. Outside money should be banned if the message they promote is a lie.
I am appalled by these Outside attacks that are full of false statements, I disregard all the Koch brothers political supported propaganda, to include: Americans for Prosperity, American Energy Alliance, Freedom Partners.
Buying elections is not “for the people by the people government.” Corporations are not people. Their ultra-deep pockets do not give them more of a right to free speech than me, you, or our neighbors. That is exactly what the Koch brothers are all about, though. Alaskans need to be very wary of who’s selling us up the creek. If we do what they want us to, we’re going to be stuck with a senator who does the bidding of Outsiders. Not fight for real Alaskans. If we’re not careful, we’ll lose our say on wages, who controls our voice, who we develop our resources for, and the strongest voice we have for us in Washington, D.C.
Alaska will be sucked dry and spit out when it’s done unless we stop these Outside corporations and the Koch Brothers’ uncontrolled spending. They’re lying to us. We know they are spinning their sales pitch for their own wallet.
That is why no matter how much money is spent to lie about our Alaskan senator, I am voting for Mark Begich.
