TALKEETNA — A San Francisco band is stopping in Talkeetna next month as part of a whirlwind, 17-day, 11-performance tour of Alaska.
"Planting Seeds," which is in the process of releasing its second album titled "It Takes Time," will play the Fairview Inn at 3 p.m. Sept. 13, bringing their Bay Area tunes to the Last Frontier.
The band sports a wide array of sounds, from metal to melodies, keeping listeners engaged throughout the set. While the band officially formed in 1999, members have been playing together on and off for a decade. The bands they have been associated with have ranged from cover bands to flamenco bands.
The San Francisco-based group kicks off its Alaska tour on Aug. 30, with two shows at Max's Bar and Grill in Girdwood. Following a third Girdwood show, the band has scheduled two appearances in Healy, on in Anchorage, two in Homer and then the Talkeetna show. The tour winds down with two performances in Fairbanks on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15.
The tour is being presented by AkThisMonth.com, a Web-based group promoting Alaskan musicians and bands. For more information about the Planting Seeds, interested people can check out either www.akthismonth.com or www.plantingseedsband.com.
