WILLOW — Alaska State Troopers say campers had to hogtie one of their own who got out of control last week.
According to an AST press statement, at 3 a.m., Aug. 12, officers were called to a disturbance at Red Shirt Lake.
According to troopers, two groups had been camping and drinking there when one man got out of control.
Aaron Chambliss, 21, Anchorage, allegedly “repeatedly placed a male and female in fear of imminent physical injuries.
Members of both groups unanimously decided to restrain Chambliss with ropes and zip-ties until (troopers) arrived,” according to the press release.
When troopers arrived via ATVs provided by the local Willow Fire Department, they found Chambliss hogtied. They arrested him for assault and jailed him at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
Jail records Saturday showed he’d bailed out.
