To the editor:
Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, the financial assistance of Big Lake Community Council, Meadow Lakes Community Council, and Susitna Rotary, the trailer donations by the City of Houston and Susitna Rotary and the Roundup grant from MEA Charitable Foundation, Mid Valley Recycling now has a trailer dedicated to corrugated cardboard collection at the Big Lake transfer site. Another trailer for other recyclables will soon follow, thus eliminating our need to rent a trailer.
We appreciate the collective efforts of all.
Our biggest need now is for volunteers to haul these trailers from the transfer site to Valley Community for Recycling Solutions in Palmer. If you have a truck (we have the 5/16 inch ball) and have three hours to donate, we could use your help. Volunteers are available to help unload the trailer so our primary need is for haulers. Please email sammytaylor@live.com if you can help.
Thanks again to all the contributors to our recycling efforts.
