Candidate’s proposals give me hope

I was disappointed to watch most of our Alaska legislators dodging the budget deficit, making more cuts, and hoping the price of oil would rise. I’ve seen the numbers—cuts alone will never address our deep deficits. The dodgers blamed Gov. Walker for calling them back to fix the problem-that-would-not-go-away, and criticizing the necessary PFD adjustment put forth.

Now come Mark Begich and Debra Call, offering workable budget solutions. In public education, we need dependable funding. I love the innovative long-range strategy they offer.

“Tough on crime” alone has never worked. Begich & Call say, “deal with the root causes of crime” in their 6 specific proposals. This gives me hope.

Check out their plans to address education, crime, jobs, climate change, the PFD, health care, rural Alaska, energy, & veterans.

Personally, I am very excited to vote for a man with a plan, not slogans.
